The Upshur County Public Library’s Book Club began in September, 2017.  It generally meets on the first Thursday of each month, barring holidays.  They try and read a combination of both fiction and nonfiction titles.

Here is the list of books the club has tentatively scheduled to read over the next year.  Take a look at our catalog in order to find a copy of these books to read.  All books should also be available in eBook format as well. A themed month is a month where members pick books on their own to read on a particular theme (i.e. in February, reading romance fiction), then at the meeting where they discuss about the book, each one gives a little talk about the book they picked.

Date to be Read Book Title Author
July 2020 Blue Jacket: The Life of a Shawnee Chief Alan Eckert
August 2020 The Glass Castle Jeannette Walls
September 2020 Olive Kitteridge Elizabeth Strout

If you are interested in joining the club, please give the Upshur County Public Library a call at (304)473-4219, or stop and inquire at the circulation desk for more information. Also, please check out the Facebook group we have set up on the library’s Facebook page.
